Caprese Pasta Salad

DSC_0559

Growing up Italian, you learn the basic food group: Pasta.  No meal is actually complete unless it is accompanied by a little bit of pasta.  However, the one Pasta Dish (if you can call it that), which I personally detest, would be the traditional, mayonnaise drenched, pasta salad.  We have taken the old American BBQ side and transformed it into a Mediterranean inspired pasta salad.  Now we can say this BBQ is complete!

1 pound of Bow Tie Pasta

1 block of Fresh Mozzarella Cheese

1 package of Cherry Tomatoes

1/4 c. Chopped Basil

2 Packets Good Seasons Italian Dressing

Salt

Pepper

Pasta Salad

Bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a boil. Cook the Pasta until al dente, strain and put into a large mixing bowl.  Cut the Tomatoes in half, dice the Mozzarella, and chop the Basil.  Add all of the ingredients into the bowl with the pasta.  Prepare dressing as instructed on package.  Add the dressing until the pasta is coated but not saturated. Let the salad stand in the refrigerator until cool.

Fork It.
